This Privacy Policy explains how Snapense ("Snapense," "we," "us") collects, uses,
and protects information when you use the Snapense mobile app and website
(together, the "Service"). By using Snapense, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign in with Google, Apple, or email/password.
- Receipt data — photos you capture or upload, and the merchant, amount, date, and category we extract from them. Receipt photos are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to extract this information; they are not used to train third-party models.
- Mileage data — the odometer readings and trip distances you enter manually, or that are synced from a vehicle you connect. Snapense does not track GPS location or routes.
- Vehicle data — if you connect a vehicle (via Tesla's own account authorization, or via Smartcar for other makes), we receive odometer readings and basic vehicle details (make, model, year) for the vehicle you authorize. We never receive your vehicle account credentials — authorization happens directly with your vehicle manufacturer or Smartcar.
How we use your information
- To provide core features: scanning and organizing receipts, tracking mileage, syncing vehicle odometer data, and generating reports.
- To back up and restore your data across devices tied to your account.
- To respond to support requests and, if you're a business customer, to configure custom categories and reporting.
- To maintain the security, stability, and performance of the Service.
How your information is stored
Snapense is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Functions).
Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and encrypted in transit. We do not sell
your personal information.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and backend hosting.
- Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — for account authentication, if you choose those options.
- Anthropic — processes receipt photos to extract merchant, date, and amount.
- Tesla and Smartcar — for vehicle odometer sync, only for vehicles you explicitly connect.
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies in addition to this one.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete individual receipts, trips, and connected vehicles at any time within the app.
- You can disconnect a synced vehicle at any time from the Vehicles screen.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.
Children's privacy
Snapense is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Snapense evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
